The first 2011 foals have arrived! We’ve begun our 5th annual posting of birth announcements on the New Foals page!
The entire list of our 2011 expected foals is now available and each can be found on its mare’s page! The Arabians Ltd. Mare Collection comprises one of the finest bands of Egyptian Arabian broodmares in the world. Each mare’s breeding was carefully chosen to strengthen her pedigree and complement her strengths as an individual, in anticipation of creating a beautiful foal! And we have some very special foals coming this year!
Check out your favorite mares’ pages from the mares homepage to see when they will have their babies, as well as each baby’s sire!
Frank Sponle’s Second US Foal Arrives!
New: A full sister to FS Thee Cinderella was born on April 8th!
FS Thee Cinderella (Thee Desperado x Christina JD)
Congratulations to international Arabian trainer Frank Spoenle on the arrival of his first American-born foal! Born February 15th via embryo transfer to Padrons Psyche daughter Christina JD, this Egyptian-sired Thee Desperado filly is big, bay and beautiful!
Frank is so happy with this filly, who he’s named FS Thee Cinderella, that he has made plans to keep her in the US and show her here in 2010! He’s also breeding Christina back to Thee Desperado for 2010.
Thee Desperado‘s stud book is still open to non-straight Egyptian mares! Let us know if you’re interested in creating a beautiful foal like Cinderella!

Mare Lease Program produces rare filly
At the end of January, a once-in-a-lifetime straight Egyptian Arabian filly was born. Through the Arabians Ltd. Mare Lease Program, Keri and Carolee Wright chose Magidaas Image, one of only two remaining daughters of Aristocratic mare Bint Magidaa, to produce their 2009 foal. Magidaas Image (The Minstril x Bint Magidaa) was bred to Thee Infidel, a two-time U.S. National Top Ten Stallion and the only remaining son of Bint Magidaa in the U.S., to produce this baby.

First Mishaal/Desperado-bred foal photo!
As our friends and clients around the world know, Arabians Ltd. spent many years searching for an outcross sire for our Thee Desperado-bred herd. After searching the Egyptian Arabian world over multiple times, we finally acquired the German-bred Mishaal HP in 2004. We bred our best broodmares to him, waited on the edge of our seats, and welcomed his first foals in 2005. After three years of raising those babies, we had the first opportunity in 2008 to breed Mishaal HP‘s oldest daughters to Thee Desperado and his sons. Our long wait to see the result of this breeding was finally over on January 12th with the momentous birth of a grey colt (Thee Desperado x Madina RCA by Mishaal HP).

This week has seen the culmination of many years of careful work and planning at Arabians Ltd. Two of the first Mishaal HP fillies we ever bred have foaled their first babies, both by Thee Desperado! A grey colt was born to Madina RCA, and a grey filly to Bint Mishaal RCA. These babies are simply beautiful and represent what we believe will be the perfect blend of bloodlines to carry on our future.
When we started searching for an outcross stallion, it was exactly for this reason, to be able to breed back to Desperado and his sons. After so many years of anticipation, these little ones are the talk of the farm! Check back for pictures soon, and check our New Foals page often for the latest birth announcements!

Thee Desperado proudly announces the arrival the 2009 foaling season! Foals born in January to Thee Desperado and his sons and daughters are already generating buzz from literally around the world.
Desperado celebrates his 20th birthday this year, and he’s still got “it”! Join with us in celebrating a wonderful start to the 2009 foaling season, with many more special foals to come. Check our New Foals page often for all of the updates, and if you’d like to meet a new baby in person, let us know!
